Prior to joining the IFRC Mr Anthony Garnett led the internal audit and counter fraud function for HM Government’s Department for International Development, auditing the UK’s international aid budget. In this role he ran a global assurance and counter fraud service and provided consultancy support, working across the first and second lines of defence in assurance, counter fraud, consultancy and compliance.
Mr Garnett trained at KPMG and is a chartered accountant. He is also a chartered internal auditor, qualified IT auditor and holds an MBA from Durham University. Mr Garnett has experience across the private, international multilateral, charitable and government sectors. Anthony is also an experienced non-executive providing audit and managerial oversight for the Global Fund, The Royal Veterinary College in London and the National Youth Choirs of Great Britain.
