Smart Practices and Learning
IFRC produces tools, courses and other materials to share best practices in aiding and protecting migrants and displaced people.
The IFRC created the Smart Practices Database, and an accompanying report, to share knowledge, skills and best practices in aiding and protecting people who are migrating or displaced. The goal is to increase the knowledge, resources and capacities of Red Cross and Red Crescent staff and volunteers, and other humanitarian actors, to improve their support for vulnerable people on the move and other migrants and displaced people. It is a living database, that enables visitors to submit their own smart practices and share experiences and resources.
This course, developed by IFRC, will increase understanding of how the Movement works with migrant communities, host populations and local authorities to meet the needs of vulnerable migrants. It focuses on assistance, protection, public awareness and social inclusion. The course can be taken in English, French, Spanish and Arabic.
