Urban Disaster Risk Reduction Workshop, Tbilisi, Georgia, South Caucasus 9 – 11 September, 2013. The South Caucasus region, consisting of Armenia, Azerbaijan and Georgia, has suffered in the past from a variety of natural disasters, including landslides, wildfires and a devastating earthquake which struck Spituk, Lori Region, Armenia in 1988. To further complicate this situation, these shocks have in the last five years been potentially exacerbated by global climate change, the full impact of which is not yet fully understood.
