In 2017 IFRC invested heavily in strengthening its internal audit procedures with a new ‘triple line of defence’ (at local/project oversight and Secretary General/senior management levels) to root out fraud, coupled with mandatory staff training on integrity. IFRC’s triple defence fraud and prevention framework was published in October of 2017.
