Torrential rains – the worst to hit Nepal in 15 years – have caused massive flooding and landslides across 31 districts of Nepal since 11 August, killing more than a hundred people. More than 62,000 homes were destroyed, 102,224 others are damaged, and 438,060 people have been displaced. More than 1.5 million people have been affected by the disaster. The appeal will allow the Nepal Red Cross Society and IFRC to provide 81,000 of the most vulnerable people with assistance in health, shelter, water, sanitation and hygiene, food security and livelihoods.
