Heavy rains began to fall on 31 March 2019, causing the most serious flooding in the district for more than a decade. The disaster happened just before the crop harvest and lambing season and may put communities’ food security and livelihoods at risk.

In our operation, the Syrian Arab Red Crescent and IFRC plan to support 45,000 of the most vulnerable people for up to six months with services in health and psychosocial support, food and household relief items, and water, sanitation and hygiene promotion.
