Typhoon Mangkhut, a Category 4 storm with maximum sustained winds of 205km/h, made landfall in Cagayan, Philippines on 15 September. The government has estimated that 665,806 people have been affected by the disaster across 31 provinces.
This appeal will enable the Philippine Red Cross and IFRC to support 100,000 of the most vulnerable survivors for 12 months. The operation will include support in health (including psychosocial support and nutrition), livelihoods (including cash transfer), shelter (including relief items), water, sanitation and hygiene, protection, gender and inclusion, and National Society capacity enhancement.
