During 2016, more than 1400 hygiene promotion sessions were carried out by Lebanese Red Cross in communities across the country. Tens of thousands of hygiene kits were offered to families in need, as well as latrine kits and other important items to help communities ensure that their household water is safe and that they can better manage the challenges of sanitation.

Promotion of good hygiene with children living in informal settlements and refugee camps is an area where the Lebanese Red Cross disaster management unit has been particularly active.
